In September 2019, road specialists of the Donaerodorstroy company began the engineering arrangement of the third stage of the bypass of Aksay, the satellite city of Rostov-on-Don.
At 1029 km of the federal highway M-4, work is underway on the installation of a monolithic curb from a cement-concrete mixture. With the help of the Gomaco 4400 high-performance concrete paving machine, our company’s road builders have already installed 300 meters of a 30-centimeter monolithic side stone.
The technology for installing a monolithic curb consists in the fact that a 4-track paver, with a special sliding formwork, directly in place with high speed forms a ready-made single cement concrete profile of the side stone. Following it, builders manually eliminate minor defects in the resulting freshly laid concrete structure. The result is a solid, even road element.
Evgenii Glukhovskii, the head of the Donaerodorstroy testing laboratory, believes: “Our monolithic bead stone has higher strength and performance compared to a precast concrete curb.”
An important process in the installation of a monolithic border is its processing with a special film-forming composition, which is applied using a spray. This mixture prevents intense evaporation of moisture and eliminates the appearance of shrinkage cracks.
Do not forget about road safety, which was provided for as much as possible when designing the largest infrastructure object in the southern region of Russia - bypassing the city of Aksai.
Security is a multifaceted concept that is based on technological aspects. Key characteristics such as the number of lanes, the presence of a dividing fence, the arrangement of the curb, lighting and much more are invested in it.
For example, the renewed section of the Don highway from 1024 to 1036 km, implemented as part of the third stage of the Aksay city bypass project, will correspond to category I, with 6 lanes and a permitted maximum speed of 110 km / h. Oncoming flows will be separated by a reinforced concrete barrier fence.
